Dermal fillers are gels made of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance inside our skin. Hyaluronic acid hydrates and volumize our skin by improving its ability to retain water. During the aging process, our body loses hyaluronic acid and the skin starts to become more saggy, wrinkly and less firm.

CONSULTATION
All treatments are subject to a mandatory face to face consultation to determine suitability which includes medical history and a facial assessment. A personalised treatment plan will be agreed to target concerns and to reach the desired outcomes.

TREATMENT
Performing dermal fillers treatments requires an in depth knowledge of anatomy, a detailed facial examination and highly skilled and artistic eye to achieve natural looking results. The treatment involves the injection of the dermal fillers into the skin.
These products are formulated with lidocaine which is an anaesthetic to make the injections more comfortable. For sensitive patients a topical numbing cream can be applied to the skin before beginning of the treatment to make the treatment even more comfortable. The treatment is performed during a single appointment which can last up to 1 hour.

REVIEW & SKINCARE
. A review in 2-4 weeks is generally recommended to determine if more product is needed. After the treatment mild bruising, redness, temporary tenderness and swelling may be experienced. Depending on the area that has been treated and the product used, results last from 6 to 14 months.
As part of the consultation, a medical grade skin care regime is recommended to protect and improve skin quality in order to make the results of the treatment last longer.

Because dermal fillers are progressively absorbed by our body, depending on the area of the face treated and the “strength” of the dermal filler used, results are not permanent and can last up to 14 months.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance inside our skin, making it highly safe and fully reversable. Common temporary side effects include tenderness, bruising and swelling. Allergic reactions and serious side effects are extremely rare and are discussed in depth during the consultation. For these reasons only medically trained practitioners should perform the treatment.

Dermal fillers are injected with a very small needle or cannula and they contain a small amount of local anaesthetic which makes the treatment very comfortable and almost painless. If you are concerned about discomfort, a topical numbing cream is applied to the skin before beginning of the treatment.
